Tilda Wheel Square is a 6” crocheted square I designed with Aran/worsted weight category 4 yarn and a size J/10/6mm hook. This is a special design created for participation in the Mélange Blanket Crochet Along by Marie Segares, The Underground Crafter.
If you’d like to join, Marie makes it very easy. All the patterns are free, and there’s nothing to sign up for—just follow her introductory blog post at Mélange Blanket CAL “This is going to be a journey of cool techniques, all sorts of textures and innovative patterns, a way of meeting new-to-you designers, and so much more! I hope you’ll be joining us,” said Marie. Get all the details about the CAL and the links to each of the patterns as they are released in Marie’s post here: Mélange Blanket CAL
For the 2023 Mélange Blanket CAL, Marie has invited 48 designers and asked each of us to create a new, free 6-inch square design. A new square pattern will be released each Friday from January 6 to December 1, 2023. If you make one of each square, the finished result will be a baby blanket size. If you’d prefer a larger size, Marie gives guidelines and yarn amounts for lots of sizes in her Mélange Blanket CAL Planning your Blanket Guide. This is available for download in her introduction Mélange Blanket CAL post.
You can also enter an end-of-CAL giveaway for a chance to win fabulous prizes including hooks, yarn and accessories from babe crochet co., Denise Interchangeables, GlassEyesOnline, King Cole, or Knitter’s Relief Balm.
I hope you enjoy making this square, and please share your work using the hashtags #undergroundcrafter #melangeblanketcal #pinkmamboblog #carolynchristmas
