Spider Web Crochet Stitch Pattern

spider web stitch pattern

Here’s a pretty, lacy stitch pattern just right for summer-weight wraps and stoles. Just crochet a rectangle, maybe put an edging around it, and you’re done! This stitch pattern definitely benefits from blocking, about which I’m planning to write soon.

  1. Carolyn,
I just love the Spider Web pattern. In fact, it is one of my favorite patterns, 2nd only to the Pineapple and/or Fan patterns for Shawls. But, I’m still working on the Calypso, so the Spider Web will have to wait for another date. Thanks for refreshing my memory with this beloved pattern!

  3. i tried this pattern 3 times with NO success 🙁 good through round 3, then starting with 4 it goes down hill from there! either steps missing or stuff is repeated but it is lost to me! i give up! 🙁 maybe you could look at the pattern and spell it out better??? thanks 🙂

    1. Hi– Sorry to hear you are having trouble with this. I’ve taken a look at the pattern and it’s ok. 🙂 I can’t think how row 4 is going wrong for you. I believe it is written the clearest and simplest way I can write it. So sorry. Maybe fourth time trying is the charm, or maybe something is actually going wrong with your row 3 causing row 4 not to work. 🙁 Best wishes!

  4. Hi. Can anyone tell me how much and what weight yarn they used? A dear friend who lost a baby 2 years ago is pregant and desperately wants a baby blanket in this. In rainbow colors.

    Thanks

    1. Was following from row 1- row 5 and got really confused at row 6. It says Ch 1, sc in tr, skip ch-3, what’s tr?

      1. Studied the pattern more and realized the error was from me. I skipped a row. Thank you for your help though. Googled what tr means and it was smooth sailing from there.
