Sometimes you just gotta make a scarf! No matter that it’s 94 degrees outside. Ever since I did the post on the V’s and Blocks stitch pattern, I knew I wanted to make a scarf with it. This one will show up again come Christmas time, for sure. I love the subtle color changes of the Misty Morn colorway in Knitpicks Chroma Worsted, but any yarn with appropriate hook size will work beautifully for this scarf. Just chain a multiple of 10 plus 5 to achieve about 7″ in width, and work until piece is about 70″ long. It would be absolutely great in sock yarn with a smaller hook.
Misty Morn Scarf
7” wide x 70” long
About 300 yds. Knitpicks Chroma Worsted (about 1½ 100g/198 yd. balls) in colorway Misty Morn
H (5.00mm) hook
Gauge is not critical. Use hook size to achieve a nice drape.
Row 1: Ch 35, dc in fourth ch from hook, * ch 3, skip next 4 ch, (sc, ch 3, 3 dc) in next ch, skip next 4 ch **, (dc, ch 1, dc) in next ch—V-stitch made; repeat from * across ending last repeat at **, dc in last 2 ch, turn.
Row 2: Ch 3, dc in next dc, * ch 3, (sc, ch 3, 3 dc) in next ch-3 sp **, V-stitch in ch-1 sp of next V-stitch; repeat from * across ending last repeat at **, dc in last 2 sts, turn.
Repeat row 2 for pattern until piece is about 70” long. Fasten off.
