Pink Mambo has been down for a bit while I’ve been toiling away, giving it fresh and clean new look! But I have to tell you, I’m not a webmaster wizard and I’ve gotten way out in the weeds fidding with this new theme, and it is by far not finished! But my inboxes have been steadily filling with messages wondering what the heck is going on so I must must put Pink Mambo back online in its gloriously imperfect state. I hope I haven’t messed up the links too much. I think I’ve got everything functional but if you hit an error page, please bear with me and use the search bar, or the Category listings, to hep find what you’re looking for.
I have so much in the works for the site–but I’m trying to rein in my Shiny Object Syndrome and resist adding and tweaking endlessly. Because really? When every last detail of this website has been polished within an inch of its life, its purpose hasn’t changed. It’s a presentation tool, sort of a serving tray really, to show crochet. So I tell myself, “It’s not about the serving tray! It’s about the teapot and cups of crochet!” And since this is how my mind works, this helps me stay on track, mostly. Except today as I was determined to get Pink Mambo back online and was un-showing a bunch of pretty but so far non-functional pieces, I broke new things. And Ravelry is now showing things as out of print, which I hope is temporary and something I suppose happened magically because my site was down a while (ahem). But onward!
One of the things I enjoyed most about this whole process was revisiting all the posts of the Variations on a Theme CAL I did nearly ten years ago. I’m amazed so much time has passed, as one always is. It was my first CAL and was so much fun! The blocks are all variations of a certain stitch pattern, and everyone enjoyed working through them and learning a thing or two along the way. I’m thinking about doing this CAL again in January to mark its 10th anniversary. Would you be up for that?
I hope you will enjoy the new look of Pink Mambo when it’s more finished! I’m so wistfully looking forward to that day. I am still adding things, like a contact form, email list signup, and social media links. It’s not done! But I hope it’s done enough for you to enjoy getting into the patterns. I can do the rest without taking the site down. I hope.
